Hybrid: London office and home working | £90,000.00 - 110,000.00 Per Annum

Context

We are seeking an experienced Finance Director with a strong background in, ideally, both the non-for-profit and private sectors. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished leader and skilled people manager, capable of guiding and empowering teams through cultural and business transformations.

Purpose of the role

 

In this role, you will lead a newly established finance team, ensuring the organisation operates with unwavering financial integrity while promoting a culture of fiscal responsibility and strategic investment. Your leadership will be pivotal in enabling business partnering teams to work closely with various departments, offering the financial expertise and support necessary to meet budgetary targets and drive continuous improvement.

 

Core responsibilities include managing the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, with a focus on ensuring financial processes and policies are both compliant and best-in-class. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors to uphold the highest standards of financial governance and reporting. Additionally, you’ll oversee the organisation’s investment portfolio, ensuring that funds are allocated effectively to support both immediate needs and long-term objectives.

 

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a team of finance professionals, blending strategic oversight with practical management. Key facts

 

Salary: £90,000 - £110,000
Employee benefits package which includes (a) a generous pension scheme with employer contributions (up to 12%), (b) life assurance, (c) annual leave of 27 days plus bank holidays
Full-time, permanent role
Location: hybrid, with c. 2 days per week in London office
 

 

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant with strong post qualification experience; experienced in producing subsidiary and consolidated accounts.
  • Experience of inter-company trading and recharges.
  • Experience of working closely with non-financial budget holders.
  • Experience of producing business plans and budgets.
  • Experience liaising at senior management level and contributing to senior management, Board and committee meetings.
  • Experience of writing and presenting to Board/Executive.
  • Experience of leading large-scale projects during their initial planning and development phases.
  • Experience of managing a finance department.
  • Experience of creating a Business Partnering function.
  • Strong background in managing, evaluating, and nurturing a team of finance professionals. Capable of inspiring a team and effectively managing their performance.
