The role
At ACCA, a ‘Qualification Content Lead’ (QCL), leads the development of both syllabus and assessment and ensure the external examining team deliver innovative, relevant and rigorous syllabuses and assessments for ACCA future members and any additional qualifications required by existing ACCA members globally.
In the QCL team there are various technical specialists (e.g. for tax, audit & assurance, financial reporting, etc).
As the QCL for Data Science and technology, your technical expertise will help shape the future of professional qualifications, ensuring ACCA continues to develop future-ready finance professionals.
In this role, you will shape the future of professional education and qualifications, and be part of a team that embraces new ideas and cutting-edge learning methods, while working with a diverse community of experts across different regions.
Key facts:
★ Full-time, permanent role
★ Starting salary range of up to £70,000 (outside London) - £75,000 p.a. (London)
★ ACCA operate a 'digital first' approach. This role can be primarily home based (anywhere in the UK), with occasional travel to either London or Glasgow ACCA offices. NB, If you live in/locally to London or Glasgow, then you are welcomed to work from the office, if your prefer this setting.
★ Benefits package includes up to 9% employer pension contribution, private healthcare, flexi time and flexi leave.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
- Act as the subject matter expert in Data Science and Technology, developing innovative syllabus content and learning outcomes.
- Lead the assessment process, ensuring exams are of the highest quality, aligned with learning objectives, and meet regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the development of interactive learning modules and other resources to support learners and education providers.
- Keep syllabus content up to date with industry trends, legislative changes, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including examiners and education providers, to maintain qualification excellence.
- Ensure all materials, exams, and assessments are 100% error-free, high-quality, and delivered on time.
- Lead marking standardisation meetings, providing expert guidance on exam content and evaluation criteria.
- Represent ACCA at external meetings, conferences, and examiner standardisation events.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
· Excellent technical, and subject matter, expertise in Data Science and Technology.
· Experience in setting a syllabus
· Experience in developing assessment models
· Experience in developing, and technical content, for learning products
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects, and deliver reliably to strict deadlines.
· Strong relationship-building skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
· Strong MS office skills – especially Word and Excel
